This time it is mostly really garbage that doesn't come from Banda: a strong westerly wind has washed up lots of plastic bottles in the last few days. Plastic bottles are rarely used on the Banda Islands. The condition of the plastic also shows that it has been floating in the sea for a long time.
Maga and team have once again done an amazing job and freed the entire coastline from the plastic masses. As usual, this marine plastic is then sorted, shredded and sent for recycling or, depending on the type, processed in the pyrolysis plant.
